Meet a CASA
Meet the West Michigan residents who volunteer their time to help kids in need.

Welcome to CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — of Kent County, the only local volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens to become appointed members of the Kent County court system in order to act on behalf of abused or neglected children as they pass through the family court system.

There are several ways to get involved in creating real change and opportunity in a child’s life through CASA. We invite you to hear our stories, learn our mission, and join our cause … because sometimes the only difference between a life of pain and anguish and a life of joy and success is YOU.

Did you know?

  • In 2010, over 800 children in Kent County were eligible for our services. We only had funds to serve 231.
  • It costs $1,000 per year per child to effectively advocate for their rights.
  • Every 10 minutes, a child in the U.S. dies as a victim of child abuse or neglect.

To report child abuse, neglect or abandonment contact the Michigan Child Abuse Hotline at 1.800.942.4357.
